Institutional orders

Your finance office does not have a credit card.

We know. Universities, school districts, museums and government labs buy on purchase orders — and a $5,799 classroom kit was never going to clear a departmental card limit. So we quote properly, invoice properly, and supply whatever your procurement system asks for.

How it works

Four steps, and only one of them is yours to chase.

Most of the delay in institutional purchasing comes from the supplier, not the buyer. We’ve tried to remove ours.

01

You tell us what you need

Use the form below. If you’re not sure which kit, describe the room, the age group and the budget — we’ll recommend rather than upsell.

5 minutes
02

We send a formal quotation

A PDF on letterhead with line items, unit prices, shipping, lead time, our banking details and tax registration numbers. Valid ninety days.

Within 1 business day
03

You raise a purchase order

Email it to us, or have your procurement system send it. We’ll confirm receipt the same day and flag anything that doesn’t match the quote.

Your procurement cycle
04

We ship and invoice

Goods dispatched against the PO, invoice issued net 30. Tracking and customs documentation sent the day it leaves.

1–3 days to dispatch
If your institution needs us set up as an approved supplier first, say so in the form and we’ll complete the vendor registration before you raise the PO. It’s usually the step that adds a fortnight if nobody starts it early.

Procurement questions

The ones finance offices ask.

Do you accept purchase orders from outside your country?
Yes, from institutions anywhere. For a first order from a new international institution we may ask for payment on delivery rather than net 30 — not a judgement on you, simply that cross-border debt recovery is impractical for a company our size. Repeat orders move to standard terms.
Can you complete our supplier registration portal?

Yes. Send us the link and a contact in your procurement team and we’ll work through it. Ariba, Jaggaer, Coupa, university-specific systems — we’ve done most of them.

Start this early. It’s routinely the longest step, and it runs in parallel with everything else if you begin at the same time as the quote.

Our rules require three quotes. Can you help?
For plain magnetic levitation equipment there are other suppliers, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Quantum levitation demonstrations are different: a superconductor locked in mid-air by flux pinning, at any angle, is a demonstration only we supply as a complete kit — bare superconductor discs exist elsewhere, but not the working demonstration. We’ll write a sole-source justification letter your procurement office can use, setting out exactly that distinction.
What happens if something arrives damaged?
Tell us within fourteen days and we replace it, with shipping covered. Superconducting discs are robust in transit — they travel warm and dry — but magnets and perspex tracks occasionally suffer. Photograph the packaging before you unpack anything that looks knocked about.
Can we buy a single disc now and the full track later?
Yes, and quite often that’s the sensible order. Buy one levitator, run it past your safety officer and your students, then quote for the track once you know it works in your setting. Everything is designed to be compatible across the range, so nothing is wasted.
Do you offer educational or non-profit discounts?
Our list prices are already set for the education market rather than marked up and discounted back down. Volume pricing (§4) applies from $2,000. If you’re a school in a genuinely constrained funding position and the Economy kit at $139 is still out of reach, write and tell us about it — we have done something on that before.
How long do the superconductors last? Is this a recurring cost?

The superconductor itself doesn’t degrade from use — it’s the thermal cycling and moisture exposure that eventually take a toll. Handled per the manual, a levitator in regular classroom use typically lasts several years.

Your actual recurring cost is liquid nitrogen, at roughly $1–3 per litre and half a litre or so per demonstration. See the liquid nitrogen guide.

Can you invoice in our currency?
We quote and invoice in USD by default, and can quote in EUR or GBP on request. Bank transfer in your currency is fine — your bank’s conversion is usually better than a card processor’s.
